Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point  –   Sailors and Civilians of Naval Health Clinic bid fair winds and following seas to the clinic’s senior noncommissioned officer during a ceremony and picnic held Friday, April 30 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.
Clinic leadership honored the service and leadership of Command Master Chief Jason Juarez by presenting him the Meritorious Service Medal and commemorative plaques as he prepared to depart for the next chapter in his Navy career at Naval Air Forces Pacific.

“My biggest success has been seeing our staff and Sailors rise to meet every adversity that has come their way and finding ways to safely provide the highest standard of care,” says Juarez about the biggest success of his command tenure.
Juarez assumed duties as Command Master Chief in late August, 2018, just two weeks before Hurricane Florence struck the North Carolina coast.  His command included additional challenges as Hurricane Dorian impacted the region in September 2019 and with the clinic’s enduring response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to leading Sailors and civilians through adversity, Juarez focused much of his efforts to improve the readiness and proficiency of junior Sailors assigned to the clinic by having them attend and graduate courses such as Tactical Combat Casualty Care.  He also developed and implemented a rotational physical and didactic curriculum to improve proficiency in Battlefield Care and Medical Evacuations, Combat Stress and Echelons of Care.

“What inspires me the most is the new enlisted and officers who continue to fill the Navy’s ranks,” said Juarez.  “We are going to be in great hands in the future with how smart and professional they are.”
