MCAS Cherry Point  –   A Sailor serving at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point who joined the U.S. Navy became a Corpsman to give back in the best way she can.

Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Emmanuella Gbogbo is a radiologic technologist and the leading petty officer for the facility’s radiology department at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. 

Gbogbo, a native of Ghana, West Africa, provides radiological imaging services to Marines and Sailors stationed at the base while ensuring the day-to-day operations of the department. 

“My colleagues are one of the most rewarding things about serving here,” said Gbogbo.  “They helped me transition into the command with ease and [into] my role as the leading petty officer.”

Gbogbo leads a team whose work provides rapid, accurate imaging to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of service members’ injuries to return them to full duty status as quickly as possible.

“I joined the Navy to travel and for school,” said Gbogbo.  “Becoming a Corpsman is my way of giving back to help…and to say thank you for the opportunity to serve.”
