MCAS Cherry Point — An MCAS Cherry Point couple serving aboard the base’s medical clinic share a passion for honoring America’s deceased service members every holiday season.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Peyton Cummins will attend Officer Candidate School in early 2025 to continue his service in the United States Navy as an officer. Cummins currently serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as Leading Petty Officer, Directorate of Public Health Services.

Wittenauer’s demonstration was part of a class teaching the Corpsmen how to properly suture a wound closed utilizing bananas their thick and easy-to-pierce skin and the ability to distinguish the skin from the fruit.
