HMCS (FMF) Senior Chief Michael Corapi, Clinic Senior Enlisted Leader
Senior Chief Corapi is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He entered the Navy July 13, 1999. Following Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL, he reported to Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, IL, followed by Field Medical Service School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina.
His sea duty assignments include 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines (3/8) at Camp Lejeune, NC; 2nd Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 272 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC; Combat Logistics Battalion 1 and 1st Supply Battalion at Camp Pendleton, CA; 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, and 2nd Medical Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC.
His shore duty assignments include Naval Air Station Willowgrove in Philadelphia, PA; Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, NC; Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute in San Antonio, TX; and Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point.
His operational deployments include Okinawa, Japan under the Unit Deployment Program, 2000 to 2001 and Kabul, Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom with 3/8 as part of the 4th Marine Expeditionary Brigade in 2002; Camp Al-Taqaddum, Iraq, 2007-2008 with MWSS 272.
Senior Chief Corapi is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief / Chief of the Boat Course. He is Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare qualified.
Senior Chief Corapi has served in various leadership billets. He served as the Chief of CLB-1, 1st Supply Battalion, 2nd AAVs, and 1/6. He served as the SEL of 2nd Medical Battalion’s Bravo and H&S Companies. He also served at 2nd Medical Battalion as the Acting Command Master Chief and assumed his duties as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point in June of 2021.
His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit awards.
