HMCM (SW) Cory J. Butler, Clinic Senior Enlisted Leader
Master Chief Cory Butler, a native of Framingham, Massachusetts, embarked on his Navy career in December 1997. Following his completion of recruit training, he attended Corpsman A School in Great Lakes, Illinois, and Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, California.
Master Chief Butler’s initial assignment took him to the Naval Branch Health Clinic in Atsugi, Japan. Over the years, he served in various roles and locations, including Naval Hospital Corpus Christi, Texas, and the 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG), where he supported Operation Iraqi Freedom. He furthered his expertise at the Naval School of Health Sciences, successfully completing Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman C School.
As an Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), Master Chief Butler served aboard the USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG-32) out of Mayport, Florida, and later joined the Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His career continued with assignments at JPAC/DPAA in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida, and aboard the USS HUE CITY (CG-66) out of Mayport, Florida and USS NEW YORK (LPD-21), based in Norfolk, Virginia. He also served at Afloat Training Group Norfolk, Virginia.
A graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Master Chief Butler assumed his current role as Command Senior Enlisted Leader at NMRTC Cherry Point in September 2024. His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, alongside various unit and campaign awards.
