MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and Civilians serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid a fond Fair Winds and Following Seas to a staff member whose combined service to the U.S. Navy totals over three decades.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Ty Hunziker receives the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point from October to December 2024.

Hunziker, who is currently assigned to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, volunteered to serve as a Surgical Technologist in the Cherry Point clinic’s Ambulatory Procedure Unit. During that, he trained two new Surgical Technicians and completed over 100 surgical cases.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Peyton Cummins will attend Officer Candidate School in early 2025 to continue his service in the United States Navy as an officer. Cummins currently serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as Leading Petty Officer, Directorate of Public Health Services.

MCAS Cherry Point — Bananas, needles and thread were crucial to improving Navy Corpsmen’s skills during a class held Friday, November 15 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Lieutenant Junior Grade James Cramer serves in the Patient Centered Medical Home Port aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point providing care to service members assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and their families.
He was presented the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal during a ceremony Wednesday, October 30 for his service as a Staff Nurse at Naval Hospital Bremerton in Washington state. There, Cramer led a 16-person team delivering care while improving the hospital’s onboarding procedures.
