Cherry Point Sailors Receive Meritorious Promotions

MCAS Cherry Point — Two Sailors serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point meritoriously advanced in rank Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

From left to right, Chief Petty Officers Jordan Varney, Tyler Goodrich and Jephray Prejusa advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer during a ceremony Friday, September 27 at Miller’s Landing. Prejusa is assigned to Cherry Point’s Aviation Survival Training Center, Goodrich is assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 and Varney is assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 14.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point recognized Sailors and staff at an awards ceremony held Wednesday, September 25 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Navy Commander Sara Quan serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as a Family Medicine Physician and Flight Surgeon. A native of Bradbury, California, she credits her brother and grandfather as inspiration to serve.

MCAS Cherry Point — A Navy Medicine officer serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point continues her family’s tradition of service in the nation’s armed forces.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Ashlyn Sanders serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as the Directorate Leading Petty Officer for the Department of Public Health and Preventative Medicine. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, she leads a team responsible for ensuring Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is a healthy place to live and work.

MCAS Cherry Point — Every duty day presents a new challenge for a Sailor leading the effort to keep Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point healthy.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Nicholas Turi serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as a Physical Therapy Technician. Turi, a native of Wickliffe, Ohio, won the MCCS Cherry Point Powerlifting Meet on August 7, 2024 with a combined squat, bench press and deadlift weight of 1,585lbs.

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated their peers’ accomplishments during an award ceremony held aboard the facility Wednesday, July 31.

Navy Commander Matthew Behil was selected earlier this year to promote to the rank of Captain. Behil serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, leading the clinic’s Optometry Department.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Officer Selections to Navy Captain

MCAS Cherry Point — Three officers serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point were selected to promote to the rank of Navy Captain earlier this year.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Caleb Nelson promoted to the rank during a ceremony held Friday, July 12 aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Nelson serves aboard the clinic in the Materials Management Department.
