MCAS Cherry Point — Staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to Hospital Corpsman Third Class Kate Helmke during a ceremony held Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

The staff of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point gathered Monday, November 24 to celebrate the promotion of one Corpsman and honor the excellence in patient care of two others. Hospital Corpsman Third Class An Tran, right, promoted to the rank. Tran serves in the clinic’s Preventive Medicine Department. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Jalen Holmes, center, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service in the clinic’s Patient Centered Medical Home from November 2023 to December 2025. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Anthony Soloriosolorio, left, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Acheivement Medal for his service in the clinic’s Patient Centered Medical Home from October 2023 to November 2025. Soloriosolorio was also awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for contributing 223 volunteer hours to various organizations like the Armed Services Blood Program, Seashore Soccer League and MCAS Cherry Point Food Drive.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Promotion, Awards

MCAS Cherry Point — The staff of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point gathered Monday, November 24 to celebrate the promotion of one Corpsman and honor the excellence in patient care of two others.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Dru Calloway, a native of Fallbrook, California, serves as the Leading Petty Officer for the laboratory aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Calloway and his team support the medical readiness of the base by drawing and receiving samples from patients, providing the test results to patients and their medical providers so they can make informed decisions about medical care.

Cherry Point Clinic Lab Staff Pass Vigorous Inspection

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and civilians serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point recently proved exceptional attention to detail and skill by passing a vigorous inspection with a 99% pass rate.

Commander Stacy Swindells deployed with the USNS Comfort on Continuing Promise 2025 and served as the ship’s Senior Nurse of the Day. She managed the workflow of patients coming onto the ship for surgery and other medical procedures. One of her most memorable moments during the deployment was coloring with children in Panama as they waited to see a medical provider. Upon her return to Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, Swindells serves as the facility’s Director for Healthcare Business. In this role, she leads a team that aids patients with their referrals and insurance needs while also providing clinic leadership insights into patient care and enrollment trends.

MCAS Cherry Point — One of Commander Stacy Swindells’ most cherished memories of Summer 2025 is coloring with children in Panama.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the Sailors and civilians serving in the facility’s Pharmacy during the month of October, 2025. October is known as “American Pharmacists Month,” with October 19 to October 25 as “National Pharmacy Week” and October 21 as “National Pharmacy Technician Day.” The clinic’s Pharmacy team ensures the wellness and safety of patients each day through the issuance of medication and instruction of its use while ensuring service members have the prescriptions needed to maintain their medical readiness.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the Sailors and civilians of its Physical Therapy Team and their efforts to keep the “Warfighter in the Fight” aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point during October, 2025. According to the American Physical Therapy Association, October is designated as National Physical Therapy Month to raise awareness about the benefits of physical therapy and to highlight the role physical therapists and physical therapist assistants help people live healthier, more active lives. The clinic’s Physical Therapy team equips MCAS Cherry Point service members with knowledge and exercises to assist in their recovery from injuries and ensure their medical readiness.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Physician Associates

MCAS Cherry Point — Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the Physician Associates serving as staff members during National Physician Associate’s Week, October 6 to October 12.

Mrs. Emily Corey, RN, CDCES, is the Breast Care Coordinator aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. She is responsible for assisting Active-Duty service members, their families and beneficiaries find resources in their fight against Breast Cancer. In October, Corey engaged patients and fellow staff members by organizing a fitness challenge, distributing education materials and set up a lobby display to raise awareness about breast cancer. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime and while breast cancer in men is rare, it often carries a higher mortality rate because men are less likely to assume a lump is cancer, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

MCAS Cherry Point — For one staff member serving at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, October holds deep personal significance, reflecting her passion for caring for her patients and raising breast cancer awareness.

Staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point gathered Friday, October 3 to celebrate the achievements and excellence of their peers at an awards ceremony. Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Palmer was recognized with the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Recognized with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal were Navy Lt. Kabresha Smith, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Jazmin Yaudes, Hospital Corpsman Third Class Asyia Gibbons. Civilians recognized for their years of service were Mr. Daniel Alber, 5 years, Mr. Nicholas Hoffman, 10 years, Ms. Dana Bayliss, 15 years and Ms. Tonya Andrew with 20 years.
