Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Phoenix, Arizona Native’s Promotion to Lieutenant Commander

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and Staff at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point gathered Wednesday, September 20 to celebrate the promotion of one of their peers.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Ernest Espiritu credits his mother’s determination and dedication to raising him as inspiration to serve in the U.S. Navy aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Espiritu supervises the clinic’s department responsible for providing medical care to family members and beneficiaries living in communities surrounding the base and eastern North Carolina.

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and Civilians recently bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to an officer who served his entire Navy career as a Nurse.

Hospitalman Miguel Rodriguez serves on the Radiology team aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. The Brownsville, Texas native recently passed the challenging America Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registry exam, earning himself the formal designation as a Radiologic Technologist.

MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point felt a calling to enter the Radiology field the very first day of his Advanced Individual Training class.

Navy Lt. Lizette Gonzalez served aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point for three years, ending her tour in Summer 2023 as the as the Department Head of Patient Administration. Gonzalez, a Mustang, previously served as a Marine for 14 years, rising to the rank of Staff Sgt.
