MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor or Marine serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point can only be as ready for deployment as their family. One medical team aboard the installation ensures the family is as ready for the fight as their warfighter is.

From left to right; Hospital Corpsman Second Class Holly Bew was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service as Leading Petty Officer in the Human Resources Department. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Cynthia Filpo Cepeda was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service in the clinic’s Human Resources and Ambulatory Surgery Departments. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Victoria Synoground was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service as Leading Petty Officer in the Patient Administration Department. She also received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for being selected as the clinic’s Sailor of the Year for 2025.

Hospitalman Emily Williams serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point in the Radiology Department. Williams, a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, felt the Navy’s call for her to serve and become a part of something greater than herself.

Staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to Hospital Corpsman Third Class Kate Helmke during a ceremony held Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Helmke served aboard the clinic from February 2024 to January 2026, providing care for nearly 3,300 patients and leading two Command Training Days while assigned to the Patient Centered Medical Home and Staff Training and Education departments.

Cherry Point Celebrates Promotions to Chief Petty Officer, Honorary Chiefs

MCAS Cherry Point — The Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point community gathered Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to honor the service and achievement of Sailors and Marines serving aboard the base as they reached a career milestone.

The Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point Readiness Team ensures the medical readiness of over 1,000 service members assigned to six different units aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The team tracks and coordinates essential medical procedures such as flight physicals for air traffic controllers and pilots, screenings for special duties, courses and reenlistments and evaluations for service members separating from active duty.

Hospitalman Cyerra Yazzie serves as a General Duty Corpsman aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point where she assists in patient care and helps train fellow staff members. Yazzie was honored by the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee with the John C. Beitz Service Person of the Quarter award Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The award celebrates service members whose contributions to communities surrounding MCAS Cherry Point reflect the same energy and dedication they bring to serving in the military.

The staff of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point’s Patient Administration Department often work behind-the-scenes to meet the facility’s mission of “Keeping the Warfighter in the Fight.” “Patient Administration tracks the full lifecycle of medical care. Without it, care would be delayed, incomplete, or undocumented,” said Ms. Cindy Godley, the clinic’s Medical Records Administrator and Assistant Department Head.
