Navy Physician Continues Family Tradition of Service aboard MCAS Cherry Point

MCAS Cherry Point — A Navy Medicine officer serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point continues her family’s tradition of service in the nation’s armed forces.

A Sailor and civilian staff were recognized for their excellence Wednesday, August 28, 2024 aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Recognized, left to right, were Hospital Corpsman Third Class Sky Brandenburg with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Ms. Kim Baker, Senior Employee of the Quarter, Mrs. Michelle West, Mid-Level Employee of the Quarter and Ms. Teresa Doss, Junior Employee of the Quarter.

MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor and civilian staff were recognized for their excellence Wednesday, August 28, 2024, aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Ashlyn Sanders serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as the Directorate Leading Petty Officer for the Department of Public Health and Preventative Medicine. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, she leads a team responsible for ensuring Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is a healthy place to live and work.

MCAS Cherry Point — Every duty day presents a new challenge for a Sailor leading the effort to keep Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point healthy.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Nicholas Turi serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as a Physical Therapy Technician. Turi, a native of Wickliffe, Ohio, won the MCCS Cherry Point Powerlifting Meet on August 7, 2024 with a combined squat, bench press and deadlift weight of 1,585lbs.

MCAS Cherry Point — The strength of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point is in the Physical Therapy Department.

Sailors and staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated their peers’ accomplishments during an award ceremony held aboard the facility on Wednesday, July 31. Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Staff with July Awards Ceremony

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated their peers’ accomplishments during an award ceremony held aboard the facility Wednesday, July 31.

Navy Commander Matthew Behil was selected earlier this year to promote to the rank of Captain. Behil serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, leading the clinic’s Optometry Department.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Officer Selections to Navy Captain

MCAS Cherry Point — Three officers serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point were selected to promote to the rank of Navy Captain earlier this year.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Caleb Nelson promoted to the rank during a ceremony held Friday, July 12 aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Nelson serves aboard the clinic in the Materials Management Department.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Staff Promotions

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and civilians serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the promotion of two staff members Friday, July 12.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Rylie Maloney is the first military applicant to receive an Optician’s License from the state of North Carolina after passing the American Board of Opticianry exam in early summer, 2024. Maloney, a native of Soddy Daisy, Texas, serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as the Optometry Leading Petty Officer, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility’s Optometry Clinic serving Active-Duty Marines and Sailors assigned to the base, their families and beneficiaries in the surrounding communities.

MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is the first military applicant to receive an Optician’s License from the state of North Carolina.
