As we are all watching the weather inbound to impact Eastern North Carolina this weekend.

Out of an abundance of caution, Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point will be closed for clinical operations Monday February 2, 2026. NHC Cherry Point will reassess Monday for the following days.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point clinics, pharmacies, lab, and administrative offices will be closed.

All scheduled clinic patients will be rescheduled.  Patients with appointments will be contacted for rescheduling. While every attempt will be made to reach patients, if contact not made patients may contact the Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point Appointment Call Center which will remain open Monday, Feb. 2 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. for rescheduling (910-450-4357, Option #1). Virtual appointments are also an option; speak with the Appointment Call Center for virtual appointment availability.

Please note, all operations are subject to change due to weather developments. Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point is working to send message out through Social Media as well.

Driving Innovation and Reducing Waste: Cherry Point Service Members, Civilians Complete Lean Six Sigma Training

MCAS Cherry Point — Members of the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point community are now better prepared to improve processes and reduce waste after attending a weeklong course held aboard the base in late January 2025.

Navy Lieutenant Kristin Thompson served four years aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, ending her service as Department Head of the facility’s Patient Centered Medical Home. During her time at the clinic, Thompson assisted her colleagues by leading focus groups and improving the delivery of women’s health services through the establishment of a walk-in contraceptive clinic. As the Director of PCMH, she oversaw 64 staff members providing healthcare to over 10,000 patients annually. Thompson was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal on Thursday, January 30 in recognition of her outstanding service and expertise.

Farland, a native of Falmouth, Massachusetts, served over 30 years with the U.S. Navy, retiring from active duty after 26 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer another ten years with the clinic as the Emergency Manager, Anti-Terrorism Officer and Force Protection Officer.

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and Civilians serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid a fond Fair Winds and Following Seas to a staff member whose combined service to the U.S. Navy totals over three decades.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Ty Hunziker receives the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point from October to December 2024. Hunziker, who is currently assigned to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, volunteered to serve as a Surgical Technologist in the Cherry Point clinic’s Ambulatory Procedure Unit. During that, he trained two new Surgical Technicians and completed over 100 surgical cases.
