MCAS Cherry Point — Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point is proud to announce it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval after a rigorous onsite review conducted. This prestigious accreditation recognizes the clinic’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality care.

The Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point Readiness Team ensures the medical readiness of over 1,000 service members assigned to six different units aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The team tracks and coordinates essential medical procedures such as flight physicals for air traffic controllers and pilots, screenings for special duties, courses and reenlistments and evaluations for service members separating from active duty.

We Keep the Warfighter in the Fight: Naval Health Clinic Readiness Team

MCAS Cherry Point — A team of three Sailors and a civilian staff member ensure the medical readiness and eligibility of over 1000 service members across six Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point units.

Hospitalman Cyerra Yazzie serves as a General Duty Corpsman aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point where she assists in patient care and helps train fellow staff members. Yazzie was honored by the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee with the John C. Beitz Service Person of the Quarter award Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The award celebrates service members whose contributions to communities surrounding MCAS Cherry Point reflect the same energy and dedication they bring to serving in the military.

MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point was recently honored for her service to the communities surrounding the installation.

The staff of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point’s Patient Administration Department often work behind-the-scenes to meet the facility’s mission of “Keeping the Warfighter in the Fight.” “Patient Administration tracks the full lifecycle of medical care. Without it, care would be delayed, incomplete, or undocumented,” said Ms. Cindy Godley, the clinic’s Medical Records Administrator and Assistant Department Head.

MCAS Cherry Point — One team’s attention to detail and meticulous execution of their duties plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare of Marines, Sailors and families of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point while ensuring service members are ready to train and deploy.

Ms. Jessica Simpson served the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point community for over 28 years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, ending her career at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Simpson, a native of New Bern, North Carolina, retired in early August 2025.

MCAS Cherry Point — A civilian staff member serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point helped Keep the Warfighter in the Fight through her 28 years of combined service.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to Hospital Corpsman Second Class Salma Moore on Monday, June 30, 2025. From July 2022 to July 2025, Moore served as the Leading Petty Officer for the Patient Administration Department. During her time here, she led 21 personnel in the processing of over 2,000 electronic health record uploads and the maintenance and security of over 6,000 patient records. Moore received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in recognition of her service to the MCAS Cherry Point community.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Nikki Brown Wolff uses an ultraviolet light to inspect a water sample taken at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point on Tuesday, June 17. Brown Wolff, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, serves in the Preventive Medicine Department aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, helping protect the base’s staff, residents and service members from disease.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Jon Cericola, a Sailor assigned to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s Warrior Wellness and Readiness Clinic receives congratulations for holding a plank for five minutes, fifty-one seconds to win the Corpsman Cup for his team during a tie-breaker event. The Corpsman Cup, held Friday, June 13 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, tested the Sailors tactical medical skills, mental resilience and physical fitness through various stations.

Cherry Point Sailors Compete, Celebrate Birthday of U.S. Navy Corpsman

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point celebrated the birthday and legacy of the U.S. Navy’s most decorated rate during a competition held aboard the base on Friday, June 13.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to Hospital Corpsman Ed DeLeon during a ceremony held Thursday, June 5. DeLeon received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service aboard the clinic in the Materials Management and Pharmacy Departments, having processed over 14,000 prescriptions and assisting in the establishment of two Script Centers aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. DeLeon also received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for contributing volunteer ours to the Carteret County Animal Shelter, the Carteret History Museum and the MCAS Cherry Point Single Marine Program.

The academic achievements of five Sailors serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point were celebrated at a ceremony held Friday, June 6 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. From left to right: Hospital Corpsman Second Class Vanessa Schofield earned an Associate of Applied Science in Health Sciences from American Military University. Schofield serves in the clinic’s Staff Education and Training Department. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Jazmin Yaudes graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Purdue University Global. Yaudes serves in the clinic’s Preventive Medicine Department. Hospital Corpsman Third Class Eleanor Garza received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from American Military University. Garza serves in the clinic’s Laboratory. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Katelyn Barros graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Management from American Military University. Barros serves in the clinic’s Patient Centered Medical Home. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Holly Bew completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences from American Military University. Bew serves in the clinic’s Directorate for Administration.
