MCAS Cherry Point — Three sailors serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point were recently selected as Sailors of the Quarter.

Staff serving aboard Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point observed Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month during April, 2026 through command-wide education, participation in “Demin Day” and an interactive display in the facility’s main lobby.

Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point “Takes a Stand” during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month 2026

MCAS Cherry Point — Staff serving aboard Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point observed Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month throughout April, 2026 with a series of events, education and an interactive display. This year’s theme, “STEP FORWARD: Prevent. Report. Advocate,” served as a call-to-action for staff members at the facility to reinforce that a command climate of respect and dignity is critical to mission readiness.

Jennifer Prutch, a certified hand therapist, provides critical care to Marines and Sailors aboard MCAS Cherry Point. She helps restore function and prevent future injuries for the service member’s most mission-essential assets: their hands.

The NMRTC Cherry Point Occupational Medicine team ensures the health and safety of service members and civilians aboard MCAS Cherry Point and their suitability for the various duties they perform as part of a unit or command assigned to the base.

Naval Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point Celebrates National Public Health Week

MCAS Cherry Point — In honor of National Public Health Week 2026, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command celebrates our Occupational Medicine and Preventive Medicine teams.

From left to right; Hospital Corpsman Second Class Holly Bew was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service as Leading Petty Officer in the Human Resources Department. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Cynthia Filpo Cepeda was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service in the clinic’s Human Resources and Ambulatory Surgery Departments. Hospital Corpsman Second Class Victoria Synoground was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for her service as Leading Petty Officer in the Patient Administration Department. She also received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for being selected as the clinic’s Sailor of the Year for 2025.

Cherry Point Clinic Farewells Three Sailors

MCAS Cherry Point — Staff serving at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to three Corpsmen on Tuesday, March 31 as they departed for their next assignment in the U.S. Navy.

Hospital Corpsman First Class Matthew Brown, a Physical Therapy Technician at NMRTC Cherry Point, performs myofascial decompression on a patient. The technique, commonly known as “cupping,” is one of many used by Physical Therapy staff to treat common musculoskeletal injuries, reduce pain and ensure Sailors and Marines can return to their duties fully ready.

Hospitalman Emily Williams serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point in the Radiology Department. Williams, a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, felt the Navy’s call for her to serve and become a part of something greater than herself.
